DAY 1

11:15 - 11:45
How to start your plot search

This session explains the importance of planning authority self build registers in England and why finding a plot is the hardest part of the self build journey for most people. We’ll explain why understanding local planning policy is so important and help you understand who you’re competing against.

12:45 - 13:15
Land - what to look for

Much of the land in the UK isn’t available for building on. This course outlines what types of land you are and aren’t looking for. We’ll cover basics such as replacement dwellings and so called ‘garden grabs’ and explain why you should be so much more interested in brownfield land than idyllic looking fields and paddocks.

14:15 - 14:45
The best ways to find a plot

Plot hunting involves much more than trawling websites and search engines. We’ll explain some of the tools used by professional plot hunters and broaden your search skills to increase your chances of finding a suitable plot.

15:15 - 15:45
Plot finding case studies

Learning from how others have succeeded is a great way to hone plot hunting techniques. We’ll demonstrate with two case studies how a professional plot hunter finds plots others simply couldn’t see.
